Posting

Sometimes I wonder if anyone is reading this stuff. I don't post enough and have come to the realization that I'll never post enough. Sigh. In self-defense, I have a time consuming day job running an insurance agency, as well as my "real" job as a writer. Right now I just finished revisions for Lone Star Magic, packed them off Monday, then started revisions for Secrets of teh Wolf, due in May 2nd. I also have a synopsis due May 1st for the Capturing the Crown book, and that complete book is due July 1st. Whew! And at the day job, I'm training a new CSR as well as training a new receptionist. Talk about stress!

American Idol is still going strong. Having a blast, watching and voting and generally agreeing with Simon Cowell. He is blunt, but he is honest.

Later!

Me Again

Ok, so I might as well face facts - it's probably going to be a once a week thing, this web log. Or close. I can't keep beating myself up over not posting more often.

That said - I had a fantastic weekend! Just got back from San Antonio - The Merritt Conference. San Antonio Romance Authors puts this one on every year. I got to meet some fantastic people - the fabulously funny Sharon Sala among them. Her book Annie and The Outlaw remains to this day one of my all time favorite books (and it came out a loooong time ago!) Saw my pal Delores Fossen, who writes for Harlequin Intrigue, and Emily Mckaskle (writing as Emily McKay) for Temptation and Blaze. I gave a talk (overcoming my introverted fear of public speaking) and think I did okay. Also met a bunch of really nice people, both pubbed and unpubbed, had some wonderful meals (yay Boudro's!), some potent Margaritas, and actually spent a night with a river-balcony room at Mansion del Rio. What a fabulous hotel!

I came back energized and excited and more than ready to tackle revisions on Lone Star Magic.
And nail that synopsis for Capturing the Crown book 2!

Ooops - sorry

Hi there! Me again. Sorry I was away so long, but once again time crept past me. It seems to do that, faster and faster the older I get. Talk about busy! Between the day job running the insurance agency and the writing, not to mention trying to have some sort of personal life, time just flies by.

I've been working on the synopsis for the continuity book and having fun, but now I have to stop and do revisions on Lone Star Magic. The pub date on that one has now been moved to November instead of August - my editor didn't get time to read the mss in time. I have to have these revisions back by April 22nd and the synopsis is due May 1st, so I should be okay. Whew!

But we just bought a boat and I'm excited about that. We haven't been able to take it out yet and can't this weekend - I'm speaking at a writer's conference - but hope to soon.

Talk to you later - Karen, out!
