Monday and counting

Hey, I had a fantastic weekend camping and boating - even tried to waterski (tried being the operative word!) My daughter is great at it, and at wakeboarding. Mostly I just ride on the boat and act as spotter, though my dh showed me how to drive the boat a little.

Now it's time to get ready for Reno. I'll be signing Soul Magic and One Eye Closed at the Literacy Signing on Wednesday night, plus attending workshops and meeting with various industry professionals. Oh, and hanging out in the bar , of course .

Until later!

Done! (Whew!)

The. Book. Is. Finally. Done. Yipeekayaaa! But seriously, I'm completely wiped out. It's finished. Printed. And in the mail.

I like it a lot. Having Keith Urban be my hero model really helped. I've listened to that song and watched that video (You'll Think of Me from Golden Road - watch it if you haven't seen it.)

Now I get to take a break. An honest to goodness, rest and relaxation. In Reno, no less. Next week is the RWA National Conference. Yes, I'll be working. But I plan to have some down time as well. Look out slots!

In Reno, I'm meeting with my Dorchester Editor Chris Keeslar to discuss my next project. It's already contracted and I sold it on a one page synopsis. So... before I start writing it, we've got to nail the story.

I also get to have lunch with my wonderful agent and dinner with my very cool Silhouette Editor Natashya Wilson. She is the best Editor ever (and the nicest!)

Plus I'm meeting several writer pals in the bar . And my hubby is joining me on Friday night to attend the Harlequin party and Saturday for the Rita awards ceremony.

Nite!

Powerful Magic

In 2001 I wrote my first Fae romance, called Powerful Magic. The book did well - it hit a chord with readers and zoomed up to number 2 on Amazon.com (paranormal romances) and sold out its print run quickly. I've just received word that it's been reprinted and will be available in November 2005, along with my new release Lone Star Magic!

I'm so excited - I've received a ton of emails asking where readers could find Powerful Magic.

On a side note - and funny as well - I got the page proofs in on Lone Star Magic. I'm supposed to read them over and look for typos and then send them back to the publisher. I'm reading along and my hero, a big, Conan-the-barbarian-type, warrior prince says "That's just silly."

Now I assure you, I did not write this. No way Alrick of Rune would even THINK those words, never mind say them. So I pulled up my manuscript on the computer, and sure enough, someone else inserted this. I've marked it out, but I'm not sure they'll delete it. If not dear reader, before you send me emails etc., realize that I DID NOT WRITE THIS. Okay? Good.

Now that we have that settled, I'm working on finishing up my May 2006 Intimate Moments, The Princess's Secret Scandal. This book is HOT - this couple has a ton of sexual chemistry. I'm excited about the story, and think my readers will enjoy the departure from "Pack" stories. But rest assured, I will be writing more of those too!

I started a diet and increased my exercise program yesterday - I have an extra 5-10 pounds I'd like to shed.

Until tomorrow (or whenever I get around to posting again) TTFN!

On the Home Stretch

It's another sweltering Sunday here in North Texas. Just got back from visiting my dad in Colorado, where the nights are cool and wonderful and there's very little humidity - heaven! We all had a wonderful time, though a bit of car trouble put a slight damper on things.

Now I'm on the home stretch of my next contracted book. It's done, my critique partner has looked it over and made her comments on the entire thing, and I'm rewriting like mad! Polishing up that rough stone to turn it into hopefully, a gemstone!

I like the characters and the story and hope the editor will too. Keith Urban sure is great inspiration (thanks Anna A. for that!)

Back to writing now, so hopefully I can get in some pool and Corona time later this afternoon.
