Life

Wow - it's been over a month since I last posted. And... 10-29-05 I broke my foot. Yep. First broken bone(s) ever - and I so didn't want to believe it, I walked around for a week in pain, telling myself my foot was bruised. Right. It was bruised - black and blue and brown and green and swollen and after a week and three days, I finally took myself into the emergency room. When they saw my much improved looking foot (it was - still bad - but better than it had been,) they x-rayed it and told me to call an orthopedic foot specialist - a Podiatrist. I did and he ordered a CT-Scan. End result - one complete fracture with separation, one other hairline fracture, and a broken toe. Soooooo.... I've been hobbling around in a walking cast, even went to Vegas for my anniversary and rode around in a wheelchair. Not easy, let me tell you, especially for a self-sufficient person like me.

And.... my next Magic book is late. It was due 12-1 (t0morrow.) I'm still revising it - I have to do this whenever I finish a book - go back and re-read and revise. It's a fun book, different, and emotionally intense. I'm hoping to have it done soon, get it turned in, and start on the next Pack book, which is due in March.

Ayyyy - Secrets of the Wolf came out yesterday. Debuted on Bookscan (at spot 100.) Not too bad. I'm already getting letters on it - people seem to really enjoy the Pack stories. I'm glad, because I like writing them.

I still need to decorate for Christmas and wrap presents bought and finish shopping, and ... life goes on. A co-worker in my day job had to put her dog to sleep Monday and that tore me up. It brings back memories. I love my puppies so much!!

My daughter baby-sat them while I was in Vegas - and sent me camera-phone pictures of them so I wouldn't miss them so much. That was so sweet! She has her own beloved pet - a beautiful black and white cat named Lucy Lu (Lulu.)

That's all for now - sorry I've been gone so long. Between the broken foot, the deadline, the anniversary trip, and the holidays, I've been busy! As my husband says, life happens!!!

'Til next time!

Powerful Magic RevieW

I know - this is a blog. And I don't seem to do much blogging. Hey, I have a day job and am busy writing. But someone suggested I post reviews here, so that's what I'm going to do.

Here's one on Powerful Magic, the reissued first book of the Fae books:

REVIEW
"Celtic time-travel with faerie future"
Megan Potter was in the park waiting to dissolve her engagement to her abusive fiancé when she is struck by lightning. Can she actually believe she was flashed through time from Dallas Texas summer 2001 to Celtic winter 1072? The snow appears convincing!
Half-faerie half-human warrior, Kenric of Blackstone returned too late to save his mortal family and has denied his faerie heritage. When he returns from his latest mercenary job, he finds a strangely dressed woman near death in a corner of his cave. He warms her and listens to her strange speech and agrees to help her return to her fiancé.
During their quest, Megan and Kenric learn that they have been brought together to fulfill the prophecy of a great battle. A battle that is not only for the faerie realm, but in the hearts of the characters to be all that they are. Kenric's half- sister is the faerie queen of Rune and has brought them together at this time but cannot predict what will happen at the battle or afterward.
POWERFUL MAGIC is an entertaining fantasy romance. The story's blends of magic and historical setting offer a typical background for this quest. For those who enjoy the faerie realm of Rune, here are the titles in this series: POWERFUL MAGIC [2001], SHADOW MAGIC [2003], SOUL MAGIC [2004], LONE STAR MAGIC [2005]
